Although the tables below are as accurate as possible, serial numbers of these acoustic guitars have never been archived and are of no assistance when attempting to date. Unfortunately, our records are not complete enough to provide precise dating information for many Fender acoustic guitars from the early 1960s through the 1970s and 1980s. The serial number has FSG at the start which makes me believe it's either made in China or Korea however the JP in the name suggests it should be made in Japan. Hi, i've been looking at a fernandes elite JP from 2014. Oddly, the serial number is stamped (hammered)into the rear of the headstock, and every other one I've owned just has a paper label glued to the rear of the headstock. Does anyone have any info on how to determine the manufacture date of a Fernandes? I have an older MIJ Strat (LE-2) with a serial number of 065067.
